Fun Fact in Crypto 🥳

Did you know that Bitcoin was predicted almost 50 years ago?

Yes, it is hard to believe but give me 60 seconds to explain… 🙏

In 1976, Friedrich Hayek wrote The Denationalization of Money. Two years after being published, he won the Nobel Prize! …

What exactly did this book cover? 🤔

The book argued for the end of the government’s monopoly on currency…interesting, eh?

In the 1970’s there was inflation, rising unemployment, and sky-rocketing interest rates in the United States.

So, what exactly was his proposal? 🤔

Businesses and individuals would be able to offer their own monies to compete with the government-issued monies already in circulation…

So…like the many cryptocurrencies that we see today?

Thank you for your 45 seconds. 😅

First “Crypto President” 📰

So why do we keep touching on the US presidential election?

To skip all of the jokes we could include…it is because the US is the highest GDP in the world and the outcome could be YUGE for crypto! 😎

Being that Biden recently vetoed a pro-crypto bill, Trump has hit the ground running with crypto in his campaign!

In the recent days, at a San Francisco tech fundraiser, Trump pitched himself as the “crypto president” … 👀

Wild to see how far Bitcoin has come from when it began 15 years ago…

Tending to the tech audience, he has taken full advantage of gaining a massive vote…

Let’s not forget, 48.8 million Americans own crypto! 🔥

If every crypto owner voted for one side, that would be massive for that political candidate.

It will be very interested to see how this plays out…and I am sure…this is not the last we will hear about crypto in this campaign…

Will the crypto vote be the one that sways the overall vote for the next US president?

Will Bitcoin break $100,000 closer to election time?

Will a time machine ever be invented so I can travel back to 2010 to buy a bunch of Bitcoin? 😂

As always…only time will tell… ⏰

Crypto Market Analytics 📊

So, we are seeing some movement in the market…which is awesome…as long as it is movement that is going up! 😅

In last week’s newsletter (click here to read it!), we covered that an increase in volume is not necessarily a positive…

Why exactly is this? 🤷

Because volume in the market shows not only buying pressure in the market…but also selling pressure!

Now…why the backstory?

Because the crypto market dropped $140 billion in 6 hours! 🤯

Before we all panic sell and put our money into 4.5% government bonds… 🤣

Let’s take a step back and remember that the overall crypto market is worth $2.55 trillion! 🚀

We have to put everything in perspective before we sell our holdings into the hands of billion-dollar companies…

(A little secret)they want to buy your crypto on the low…and that is why we see panic in the markets. 💯

Even so…let’s dive into how the market is affected by selling pressure…

Below is a chart of the previous 24 hours for the crypto market cap…this is the total value of the entire crypto market… 👇

Even though it looks like a slight decrease, this is showing the market movement that decreased it by $140B!

Why do declines like this occur in the market? 👀

😨 Fear with current world events
⚙️ “Glitches in the system”
🎭 Market manipulation and many more!

For “glitches” take example Berkshire Hathaway that went from $620,700 to $185.10!

That is a decline of 99.97% in minutes! 🤯

Before we get to how this compares to the volume in the market…

📢 We interrupt this broadcast for an important message from…

today’s sponsor!

Special thank you to Anyword for sponsoring today’s newsletter! 🙏

Now, let’s take a look at the volume compared to the market cap. 📊

As we see above, at the same time the market cap was decreasing the volume was increasing.

So, why do we keep mentioning that volume is both buy and sell pressure? 😅

Because a lot of people will say with an increase of interest (volume) that is when the market will take off…

AKA…we are going to the moon, prepare for lift off… 🚀

With all of this said, let’s not forget that volume in the market is very important…actually, it is essential!

Imagine…if you buy a crypto for $1 and it goes to $1,000! You just made 1,000x your money…the only problem is…

No one is buying it!

🧠 Don’t forget! Beware of “dead projects”. These projects generate little to no volume, and if bought, you may never be able to sell!

Initial Coin Offerings 📚

In the fun world of Finance, there are thousands of stocks that are being traded daily…well, Monday through Friday…

…also, not on federal holidays…seems limiting… 😅

Prior to these stocks being publicly traded, they go through a process prior to their IPO or Initial Public Offering.

In a nutshell, banks will evaluate the company and see how much it is worth overall, which provides the starting stock price.

Once the stock launches, then it begins at that price…simple enough…

SOOO…how does this take place in cryptocurrency? 🤷‍♂️

⭐ In crypto, we have ICO’s or Initial Coin Offerings.

How exactly are they valuated for the starting price, you may ask?

Well…hate to be a spoiler alert, but they aren’t… 👀

The starting price is normally dictated by some random guy or gal…

In a dark corner of a room, behind a screen…in their mom’s basement…

JUST KIDDING, of course…or are we? 😂

Jokes aside, the starting price is set by the founding team to the price that they deem reasonable. Well…reasonable-ish…

And yes, we have seen ridiculous starting prices over and over again. 🙄

TO BE FAIR! We have seen legitimate ICO’s, but they unfortunately can be very rare to find.

⚠️ Upcoming ICO’s…investor beware!

So, there are a few different ICO processes, but we will cover over two of them…

There are ICO’s that have a set price per coin/token with a time of when the sale ends and there are ICO’s that have various tiers.

So, how exactly do the tiers take place? 🤔

Well, they have an overall time for when the pre-sale takes place but only a limited number of coins/tokens that are available at a set price.

Once those coins/tokens are sold, then it moves up in price…below is an example… 👇

First 10,000 tokens = 5 cents per token
10,001 - 25,000 = 8 cents per token
25,001 - 50,000 = 15 cents per token

Early investors are incentivized to buy earlier so they are receiving a lower price compared to late investors.

🧠 Remember! Always do your own research before entering into an Initial Coin Offering. Many are scams and Ponzi schemes!
